Nanjing Massacre Memorial tickets for foreigners

Admission is free, but every visitor must make a real-name reservation on the memorial’s official WeChat account (passports accepted). Three exhibition areas book separately. Weekends and holidays sell out — be ready at the daily release. Solemn memorial: book Official only.

Short answer: The Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall is free, but you must reserve on official WeChat 侵华日军南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆 → 纪念馆预约. Book 1–7 days ahead; slots release daily at 08:00 Beijing time (main historical exhibition also 17:00). Passport accepted. Hours usually 08:30–17:30 (last admission 16:30); closed Mondays except national statutory holidays. No authorised third-party agents and no Trip.com admission SKU — Official WeChat only.

How foreigners reserve

  1. WeChat: search 侵华日军南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆 → official account → 纪念馆预约.
  2. Choose channel: general (≥14), parent-child (adults with under-14), or preferential (65+/disabled/etc. per museum rules).
  3. Book 1–7 days ahead. Releases daily at 08:00; main 史实展 also 17:00.
  4. Reserve each area separately (main historical exhibition, “Three Inevitable Victories”, Liji Lane Comfort Station site). Enter passport for every visitor, including children.
  5. On the day: bring the same original passport. Morning 08:30–12:30 · afternoon 12:30–16:30. Passport / HK–Macao–Taiwan holders: exchange QR at the Visitor Reservation Service Center before security if required.
