Suzhou Museum tickets for foreigners

The main Suzhou Museum is free but every visitor needs a real-name timed reservation (up to 7 days ahead, including same day). Closed Mondays (except national holidays).

Booking steps

 1. Open the official site szmuseum.com (Chinese) or the museum’s WeChat / mini-program.
 2. Register with real name; book a timed slot up to 7 days ahead (including today).
 3. One booking per ID per day; up to 10 people per account — each needs their own name/ID.
 4. Arrive within ~30 minutes of the slot or it becomes invalid. Hours: Tue–Sun 09:00–17:00 (last entry 16:00).
 5. Enter at the main gate; exit is via the Zhongwang Mansion gate.

Suzhou day with the Humble Garden

Official szmuseum.com visitor rules (OpenGuide): 7-day real-name booking via website/WeChat/mini-program, same-day until 15:40, Monday closure, no-show rules. West building notice: free, no reservation. EN practical notes (gochinafreely). Passport checkout on the Chinese site not fully verified in our FLOW — treat hotel/WeChat help as the backup. DB last_verified 2026-10-06.

Pitfalls: Assuming “free = walk-in”; missing the 30-minute arrival window; booking West when you meant the I.M. Pei main museum; no-show bans; Monday closure.
