Why reserve first
Chinese SERP is agency soft posts + official notices — few neutral “passport field + no window” pages.
The hard foreigner mistake is showing up without a reservation, not “foreigners cannot buy”.
Preferential tickets (students, 60+ non-mainland, etc.) must be the matching SKU at booking time — bring proof.
Passport booking steps

- Add travellers early: ID type Passport, name and number exactly as printed.

- Stuck without Chinese payment / WeChat: ask hotel help on the official mini-program, or test an English OTA listing if one is live for your date — verify the seller is the park / listed partner before paying.
Official rules change — re-check the linked source on your travel week. Prefer official channels; avoid unofficial “guaranteed ticket” sellers.
Pitfalls
- Planning to buy at the gate — ordinary windows are gone.
- Wrong ID type or one-digit passport typo.
- Skipping the bus ticket and discovering you cannot cover the valley on foot in a day.
- Buying “reserve / skip-line” from strangers — real-name tickets are non-transferable.
- Assuming same-day stock on National Day / peak foliage weekends.
