Xiamen Ferry company FAQ is explicit: the online channel they stand behind is the mini-program 屿见厦门. Tickets on other platforms or from individuals are 非官方授权; the company will not handle those disputes. Foreign passport path described on the FAQ: 其他证件 + passport/permit number. Live passport fields inside the mini-program = Check (not filmed).

    Read the company rule

    Open xmferry.com FAQ「网络购票篇」. Note Q2 (foreign documents → 其他证件) and Q7 (only 屿见厦门 is authorized online; other platforms are 非官方授权).

    Open mini-program 屿见厦门

    WeChat or Alipay. Official illustrated guides: 鼓浪屿船票 → 游客购票 → date, day/night, dock, flight with remaining seats → 添加出行人. Login: 手机号快速授权 or 实名认证登录. Whether login requires a +86 number = Check.

    Add traveler with passport

    FAQ says choose 其他证件 and enter passport or permit number. The live ID-type dropdown inside 屿见厦门 was not opened this pass (Check — needs your phone auth).

    Bring passport to the pier

    Tickets are real-name. FAQ warns some passport numbers used at purchase are not the number printed on the document — check at a staff window if the gate rejects the code.

Key pitfalls

  • Company FAQ: only 屿见厦门 is the authorized online channel — tickets on other platforms are 非官方授权; company will not handle disputes.
  • Trip.com product 109794338 is a round-trip ferry + one-way car transfer package (not a pure pier ticket) and is unauthorized per the company — do not treat it as official.
  • Legacy e.xmferry.com did not load from this network (Check).
  • No English UI on xmferry.com public pages checked.
  • Island attraction tickets (Sunlight Rock, etc.) are separate — Trip package explicitly excludes Kulangsu entry tickets.
  • Passport field inside 屿见厦门 not filmed (Check).

FAQ

Can I buy the ferry on Trip.com?

Trip.com lists a ferry + car-transfer package (product 109794338) that showed Passport ID — but Xiamen Ferry FAQ says only 屿见厦门 is authorized online and other platforms are 非官方授权. We do not recommend Trip as the official pier ticket.

Where do foreigners book?

Mini-program 屿见厦门 (WeChat or Alipay). FAQ: add passenger → 其他证件 → passport/permit number. Form fields inside the mini-program = Check (not filmed).

Is there a web checkout?

Public homepage has WeChat/Alipay QRs and a remaining-seat table. Purchase still routes to mini-program QRs. Legacy e.xmferry.com did not connect this pass.

Does the ferry ticket include island sights?

No. Official ferry pages checked here do not sell Sunlight Rock. The Trip package also excludes Gulangyu attraction entry tickets.
