Leshan Giant Buddha tickets for foreigners

English booking works on Trip.com with passport details. The cliff walking ticket (~CNY 80) and the daytime river boat (~CNY 70) are separate — decide before you buy. Easy day trip from Chengdu by high-speed rail.

Booking steps

  1. Choose walk, boat, or both (separate tickets).
  2. Open Trip.com: Leshan Giant Buddha attraction.
  3. Pick date, enter passport details exactly, pay.
  4. Travel: Chengdu HSR → Leshan (~1 hour), then bus/taxi to the gate. Aim for opening.
  5. Peak hours (1 Apr–7 Oct): 07:30–18:30 (last entry 17:30). Off-peak from 8 Oct: 08:00–17:30 (last entry 16:30).

Attraction JSON last verified 6 Oct 2026 (Trip.com primary path; walking/boat prices per cited Leshan notices / Go China Freely Jun 2026). Stairs can close in rain — check day-of notices.

Pitfalls: Buying only the walk then wanting the boat view (or vice versa); late arrival into cliff queues; rain/maintenance stair closures; confusing Leshan with Chengdu city sights.

Walking (~CNY 80) reaches the feet via cliff stairs. Boat (~CNY 70) shows the full Buddha from the river. Buy both if you want both views.

Do I need to book ahead?

Recommended for weekends and holidays. Midweek walk-up is often possible but not guaranteed.

How long from Chengdu?

About 1 hour by high-speed train to Leshan, then local bus/taxi to the scenic area — leave early.
