Mutianyu Great Wall tickets for foreigners

Mutianyu runs its own English booking site. You can pick a date and ticket type before logging in. Verified 6 Oct 2026.

Booking steps

  1. Go to en.mutianyugreatwall.com → Get tickets → English.
  2. Select date (up to 15 days ahead) and morning/afternoon.
  3. Choose wall only, wall + shuttle, or wall + shuttle + cable car.
  4. Enter passport details and pay. At the gate, show the same passport (or SMS QR if offered).

Pitfall: Buying “wall only” and then discovering the parking/service area is ~3 km from the wall — most visitors want at least the shuttle (CNY 60 combo).

You can choose a date, session and ticket and reach the passport form on en.mutianyugreatwall.com without logging in. Bring the passport you booked with.

How much is Mutianyu?

Adult wall admission CNY 45; with round-trip shuttle CNY 60; with shuttle + round-trip cable car CNY 200 (student prices lower). Confirm live on the site.

Will it sell out?

Rarely — the calendar showed on the order of tens of thousands of tickets per day when we checked. Book ahead for weekends anyway.
