Step-by-step booking guide

  1. 1

    Book the cave bundle

On Trip.com, open Huanglong Cave (Yellow Dragon Cave), pick your date and the adult ticket, and enter your passport name and number.

  2. 2

    Get to the cave

It is about 8 km east of Wulingyuan town. A taxi or ride-hail from Wulingyuan takes around 15–20 minutes; tourist buses run from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station.

  3. 3

    Check in with your passport

Passport holders may be sent to a staffed counter rather than the ID-card gates — allow extra time on holidays.

  4. 4

Walk the cave and take the boat

The route is one-way with an underground-river boat section. Use the toilet before you enter; there are none inside.

  5. 5

    Optional: the Labyrinth

A short side section inside the cave costs an extra CNY 15.

Key pitfalls

  • Yellow Dragon Cave is not covered by the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Wulingyuan) pass — it is a separate ticket.
  • The audio-guide fee is part of the standard bundle, so the real price is CNY 121, not the CNY 60 admission alone.
  • The underground-river boat queue builds by mid-morning in peak season. Arrive at opening.
  • There are no toilets inside the cave and the route has many steps — allow 2–2.5 hours.
