Hong Kong booking guides for foreigners

Hong Kong is a separate SAR with English official sites, Cityline, and Octopus. Book Peak Tram and park tickets ahead on busy days; West Kowloon museums sell timed tickets online.

Why visitors come

  • English official ticketing (Disney, Ocean Park, Peak webstore, Cityline, M+)
  • Peak Tram sells out on weekends — official webstore only (counterfeit warning)
  • West Kowloon: Palace Museum + M+ timed tickets
  • Octopus / contactless easier than mainland WeChat for many rides

What to know before you book

City-wide rules for foreigners

Carry your passport for hotel check-in and some ticket name checks; HK is not mainland China immigration.
Prefer official English sites and Cityline over random resellers — Peak Tram posts a counterfeit-site warning.
Octopus cards and contactless work widely on MTR and many attractions.
Typhoon Signal 8+ and Black Rainstorm close outdoor sites — check each venue’s weather page.
