Official WeChat account (陕西历史博物馆)
The museum’s English site has no web booking — its official notice says to scan the WeChat QR code. Free tickets for the main museum are released daily at 17:00 Beijing time, 5 days ahead, and passports are accepted. Trip.com only sells the paid Tang Dynasty Mural Treasures hall ticket (about US$40.27, non-refundable), not free general admission.

Key pitfalls
- Don’t buy the Trip.com “museum ticket” expecting free general admission — that ticket is for the paid treasure/mural hall.
- No-show without cancelling → 180-day booking ban (official notice).
- Max 4 bookings per ID in 30 days, including cancellations — cancel carefully.
- Children ≤14 cannot reserve alone.
- Main museum ≠ Qin-Han Civilization Museum (different site).
